Jungle Trellis
This secret jungle oasis is located near Downtown Tacoma, WA.
The client has transformed the rear deck of his home - which doubles as his carport roof - into a whimsical tropical garden setting.
Built over a stairwell that connects the upstairs rear of the home to the parking area below, the trellis act as an airy roof, which provides some protection on rainy days. - The water drips and runs down the leaves and funnels into a small Koi pond. –>
The trellis structure is made entirely of Stainless Steel, with several small jungle critters made of bronze inhabiting it. They are colored by a patina or by the application of a colored transparent lacquer.
At 17ft. x 8ft. x 10ft. tall, the sculpture covers the upstairs door and the small roof above it, a small wall to the side, and the stairwell area
